We cannot expect to solve a problem stemming from interference in the Earth’s climate via more interference. The global climate system is inherently complex, lies far beyond human control, and is not a machine that can be redesigned or ‘fixed’. To leave this dangerous path open represents an existential risk and an unconscionable moral hazard.
