I am signing this agreement, because there is and will never be possible to manage the use of technologies in an equitable manner internationnaly, even if these impacts are certain. And in this particular case, in addition, a lot of uncertainties remain. More broadly, the world will not be able to face the climate change issue together with other global challenges through technology innovation only. Profound transformations of our societies and the way they interact, at all pertinent scales, from local to global, are urgently needed. Solar geoengineering is related to myths of global control of the planet wich are paradoxically related to the image of the planet (half only) that has been produced one half century ago.
