Solar geoengineering is yet another form of expanding markets for global capitalism which, like other forms of colonialism and neocolonialism, will have a cruel impact on the peoples of the South. The bourgeois class has found new spaces for capital accumulation in the climate collapse and solar geoengineering, highly dependent on mining and extractivism in peripheral countries, is one of them. Rather than actively promoting the reduction of emissions that actually cause climate problems, global corporations and political leaders have invested in profiting from the consequences. Solar geoengineering is about profit not about climate justice.
